WHS Art Club's Annual Empty Bowls Chili & Soup Sale

What: A ceramic sale put on by our high school Art Club including ceramic handmade bowls that you can purchase to fill with unlimited soup and chili.

Why: Empty bowls is a ceramic bowls and food sale. Proceeds go to our art club fundraiser and the Food To Go program that places food in student's lockers who are in need of added support over the week end. Feed your belly and it feeds another! Just one more way to support our students and community. The need of the student can vary. Some have financial hardship and the only meals they receive are at school, others have had a death in the family or situational stresses that already having prepared food helps alleviate some worry.

How much: $5 for small bowls $10 for larger bowls. There will also be a raffle for ceramic bowls filled with prizes! These will be sold during the basketball games and announced at the end of the evening. Raffle tickets are $5, $3 if you buy a small bowl and $2 if you buy a large bowl. Any purchase of a bowl gets you chili/soup in the cafeteria.

When & Where: Saturday February 10th 2:00-7:00pm during the basketball games that day. There are 5 games between both boys and girls teams. The bowls will be set up in the lobby and food in the cafeteria.

On Saturday February 10th, the Waynesville Boys and Girls Basketball teams will be playing a quintuple header with the Spartans from Valley View. The freshmen boys’ game will begin at 1:30pm, followed by the girls and boys JV and varsity games.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, the Waynesville Art Dept. and SADD groups will be providing a Chili Supper for those in attendance through our “Empty Bowls Program.” Fans will have the opportunity to purchase ceramic bowls hand crafted by Waynesville Art students and teachers or use bowls provided. Cost is $5-10 per bowl with free refills. Raffles and prizes will also be available.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit students and families of the Wayne Local School District through the Food to Go program.
