BASKETBALL SPORTS UPDATE - 1/17/2020
Boys Basketball
Last Friday, the Spartans took on league opponent Carlisle and took home a 73-59 win. Key players for the night were Seniors Bryce Nolbertowicz (20 points) and Ryan Papanek (15 points). On Tuesday, they faced off against Preble Shawnee, once again securing a win 67-60. Seniors Carson Lowe and Mac Greely stood out for the Spartans, with Lowe scoring 21 points and Greely scoring 17 points. The Boys will play again on January 17th at Northridge, and they return home on Tuesday January 21st starting with Junior Varsity at 5:45.
Girls Basketball
The Lady Spartans played East Clinton this past Monday, beating the Astros 43-29. Sophomore Emma Whitaker was a standout, scoring 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Junior Hannah Gill had 7 steals for the Lady Spartans, as well as 4 points. The Lady Spartans return to the court Saturday January 18th against the Dixie Greyhounds at home. Junior Varsity will play at 12:00 pm and the Varsity will follow.
