High School Lady Spartans Head Coach Brian Bunn just achieved a major milestone in his coaching career. Coach Bunn had his 200th Career Win with his team, the Lady Spartans Soccer. Coach Bunn has been with the Lady Spartans since the fall season of 2012.
The team defeated Madison 5-0 Tuesday night to maintain their 1st place standing in the league. Senior captain Marcella Sizer scored 2 goals and had 2 assists raising her to 14 goals and 8 assists so far this season. Junior Megan Handle also scored 2 goals, bringing her to 10 goals and 4 assists for the season. Sophomore Hannah Gill scored 1 goal. Strong midfield play from senior captain Anna Miller, junior Kelsey Stamm, and sophomore Jenna Foley maintained possession in the middle which led to several runs on goal for the Lady Spartans. The defense, consisting of senior captain Jennifer Slyby, senior captain Jenna Senetra, junior Josie Miller, sophomore Emma Sizer, and junior goalkeeper Riley Rice, squashed all attacks by the Madison offense leading to the Lady Spartans’ sixth shutout of the year. Senior Morgan Baker, senior Sara Napier, senior Cheyenne Smith, senior Hannah Bulcher, freshman Savanna Amburgy, and freshman Kate Handle all made solid contributions on the field to secure the win.
With the victory, Coach Bunn and the Lady Spartans move to 7-0-0 for the season while scoring 33 goals against opponents and only surrendering 1 goal to opponents.
Congratulations to Coach Bunn on his 200th victory! The Lady Spartans are very proud of his accomplishment and grateful to be able to have delivered this 200th win.
