The game started with the Lady Spartans quickly taking control and picking up a 4-1 lead in the first with Waynesville putting in another run in the second  to which Brookville responded with one of their own soon after. The fourth saw both teams run two in but after that Waynesville put up six in the next two innings while Brookville had snuck another in and after a scoreless seventh Brookville fell to the Lady Spartans ending the game with a score of 13-5.

On Tuesday, the Varsity softball team opened their season with the Miamisburg Vikings at home. The Lady Spartans played well in a tough game being outscored in the first inning and despite their best efforts Miamisburg kept their pressure for the majority of the game as the Lady Spartans fell in a stinging 1-9 defeat.  They will play again tonight at Beavercreek.  JV softball’s season has also started with 2 losses to Miamisburg and Springfield Shawnee.
