Monday May 9 (1st postseason win):
 Waynesville 10 - Preble-Shawnee 0
The Spartans scored 10 runs on 12 hits led by JR Maddie Almeter (3for4;RBI;3R).  SR Darby Frederick (2 for 3;RBI;1R), SR Ashley Lukens (2 for 3;1R), and FR Lauren Rieger (2 for 4;RBI;1R) all had multiple hits.  JR Jenna Bulcher (1 for 1) and FR Ava Hallows (1 for 3) each had a double, RBI and scored a run.  FR Amanda Tudela chipped in with 2RBIs and a run.
 
Tudela was the winning pitcher allowing only 4 hits, no walks and had a season high 9Ks.  
 
Tuesday May 10:
Waynesville 13-Franklin 4
The Spartans scored 7 runs in the 6th to extend a two run lead and never looked back.  They totaled 16 hits in the game.

Friday April 29:
Waynesville 14 - Oakwood 0
Senior night fireworks for the Spartans as they scored 14 runs on 13 hits.  
FR Lauren Rieger- 3for4 (2RBI/3R)
FR Amanda Tudela- 3for4 (2RBI)
SO Danie Scamorza- 2for3 (2RBI/2R)
SR Darby Frederick- 1for2 (2R)
FR Ava Hallows- 1for3 (2RBI/2R)
FR Kylie Bailey- 2for3 (RBI/2R)
 
Tudela took the win in 5 allowing 1 hit and striking out 8. 
 
Saturday April 30:
Waynesville 4 - Eaton 9
Waynesville scored 4 runs- two thanks to FR Kylie Bailey and FR Ava Hallows’ solo home runs; Bailey’s 6th and Halllows’ 5th on the season.  SR Ashley Lukens and FR Katelyn Eckley had an RBI apiece.  
 
FR Amanda Tudela took the loss on the mound.
 
Monday May 2:
Waynesville 7 - Madison 5
JR Maddie Almeter racked up 4 RBIs to help the Spartans bring home the dub.  FR Lauren  Rieger went 4 for 4 on the day and scored 2 runs.  FR Ava Hallows went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.  FR Katie McKeehan pitched in with an RBI on a sac fly.  
 
FR Amanda Tudela got the win on the mound. She pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 1 run.  
 
Wednesday May 4
 Waynesville 8 - Bellbrook 6
Spartans win!!  FR Pitcher Amanda Tudela (7K) got the win while JR Maddie Almeter (3K) came in and tossed 1 2/3 hitless innings in relief shutting down the last 5 batters of the game.  
FR Kylie Bailey went 2 for 4 at the plate (3RBI;2R) and hit her 7th bomb of the season.  
FR Lauren Rieger went 2 for 4 and had 2RBI (1R).  Tudela (3for4;RBI), SR Ashley Lukens (3for3;RBI;1R) and FR Katie McKeehan (2for4;2R) had a day at the plate also.  SO Danie Scamorza and JR Jenna Bulcher each scored a run a piece.

Friday, April 22:
Waynesville 15 - Monroe 5
 
Slow start to the offense on this day, but the Spartans came alive scoring 15 runs on 13 hits.   The game was tied 1-1 until the bottom of the fourth when a single by SO Jesse Hardyman scored a run starting a rally that put 6 more on the board in the inning. The two teams scored 4 runs in the fifth.  FR Alyssa Wynn’s misplayed hit to left field in the sixth put the Spartans up by 10 ending the game early.

JR Maddie Almeter was the winning pitcher today going four innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits.  She also had 5Ks.  Tudela provided 2 innings of relief and struck out 5.  
 
Tuesday April 26:
GAME 1: 
Waynesville 5 - Talawanda 2
FR Ava Hallows was the offensive star in game 1 going 2for3 including her fourth bomb of the year.  She had 3RBIs.  FR Lauren Reiger went 1for2 and scored 2 runs while FR Katelyn Eckley went 1for2 with an RBI.  
 
FR Amanda Tudela was the winning pitcher giving up just 5 hits, 2 runs and striking out 5. 
 
GAME 2: 
Waynesville 2 - Talawanda 11
The Spartans managed only 5 hits coming up short in the second game.  Reiger, Tudela (RBI),  FR Kylie Bailey, JR Maddie Almeter and FR Katie McKeehan all had hits in the game.  SR Ashley Lukens added an RBI on a sacrifice bunt scoring Almeter.
 
Tudela took the loss on game 2 going 2 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 6 runs (3ER).  Almeter came in in relief allowing 5 hits and 5 runs (4ER).  
 

Wednesday April 27:
Waynesville 13 - Oakwood 5
The Spartans scored 13 runs off 16 hits today thanks to freshman duo Katie McKeehan and Katelyn Eckley.  McKeehan went 3for4 on the day including a home run.  She had 4RBIs and contributed 3R.  Eckley went 2for2 and had 3RBIs.  Junior Maddie Almeter went 2for4 and had 2RBIs.  
Almeter took the win on the mound going all 7 today allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits.  She had 4Ks.  Defensive contributions from FR Ally Wynn, FR Cheyenne Cameron, SO Addy Hardyman and SO Savanna Alvarado helped seal the win.

HS Softball:

Thursday April 14
Spartans win 13-7 vs. Franklin at home.  Although the hit parade started late in the game, the Spartans collected 17 hits on the night.  
 
FR Ava Hallows had a day at the plate (3for4;3runs;3RBI) and hit her 3rd HOMERUN of the season.

Kylie Bailey, Ashley Lukens, Katie McKeehan and Darby Frederick all scored a run in the game.  
JR Maddie Almeter started the game and pitched 4 innings allowing just 5 hits and 4 runs (1ER).  Tudela came in and pitched the last few allowing 3 runs (1ER).  Each had 4Ks.  
 
Friday April 15
Waynesville 9- Arcanum 14
Game 1-  Starting the game in the top of the 4th after a rainout last week, the Spartans looked to make a comeback even inching ahead with 3 runs in the fifth but Arcanum’s bats came alive again along with some untimely errors putting them on top.  
FR Amanda Tudela (2for4;3runs;3RBIs) hit her first HOMERUN of the season in her first at bat scoring FR Ava Hallows who reached on a fielder’s choice.  FR Kylie Bailey and SR Ashley Lukens each had 2RBIs.  FR Lauren Reiger went 3for5 scoring a run.
 
Tudela and JR Maddie Almeter shared pitching duties allowing 8 hits each, 4 total earned runs and 5Ks. 
 
Game 2- Waynesville 4- Arcanum 15

Almeter (1for2;2RBI)
FR Katelyn Eckley (1for3;RBI)
 
Tudela (5-3) and Almeter (1-2) combined again for five innings surrendering 8 earned runs on 10 hits.  
 
Tuesday April 19:
Waynesville 6- Brookville 5
 
Tied 5-5 a the end of 7, the game headed to extra innings.  With two outs, FR Katie McKeehan roped a double to deep right center field.  FR Katelyn Eckley battled in the box finally putting a pitch high to center field which looked to be the third out, but the play was mishandled and McKeehan came around to score what would be the eventual game winning run.  
 
FR Amanda Tudela set down the side in the 8th inducing a grounder and fly to shortstop and a strikeout.  She allowed 6 hits 5 runs(1ER) and struck out 3.
 
JR Maddie Almeter and SR Ashley Lukens each had 2 RBIs.  FR Kylie Bailey and Tudela scored 2 runs and FR Ava Hallows scored 1. Lukens had a great day defensively at second base with 6 put outs on 6 chances.  
 
Wednesday April 20:
Waynesville 14 - Monroe 1
 
JR Maddie Almeter picked up the win in the circle today in 5 allowing just 4 hits, 1 run and striking out 9 batters.  
 
The Spartans scored 10 runs in the first inning sparked by doubles from FR Ava Hallows (2RBI;1R), FR Kylie Bailey (2RBI;1R) and Almeter.  FR Katie McKeehan went 2for3 with 4RBI.  FR Lauren Reiger, FR Alyssa Wynn, SO Jesse Hardyman and SR Darby Frederick all contributed with runs scored on the day.

Thursday April 14

 

Spartans win 13-7 vs. Franklin at home.  Although the hit parade started late in the game, the Spartans collected 17 hits on the night.

The Varsity Softball team played their first doubleheader Saturday at Newark.  They took the first game 7-6 on a walk off double by Freshman Kylie Bailey which scored three runs. They had 8 hits in this game.  Freshman Amanda Tudela and Freshman Katie McKeehan had two hits each.  Tudela took the win in this one surrendering 6 runs on 11 hits and striking out 5. 
 
Despite having 9 hits in the game with Junior Maddie Almeter, Freshman Kylie Bailey and Freshman Lauren Rieger picking up two each, the Spartans fell in the second game 11-7.  Bailey hit her second home run of the season in the first inning scoring two runs. 
 
Freshman Katelyn Eckley was a wall behind the plate and caught a runner stealing. 
 
The Spartans are now 3-2 against non-conference DI schools heading into conference play on Monday.
 
On Monday, April 4th,  the team won their first conference game 12-0 at home vs. Valley View. 
 
Maddie Almeter (2for3; 3 RBIs) and Kylie Bailey (3for3; 4 RBIs) each homered in the game. 
 
Senior Ashley Lukens (2 for2; 2 runs scored), and Katie McKeehan (2 for3) each had multiple hits for Waynesville.
 
Amanda Tudela (4inn.) and  Almeter (1inn.) combined for a no-hitter throwing just 50 pitches total in the game.
 
Games for Tuesday and Wednesday were cancelled due to rain.
