THERE WILL BE A MEETING ON TUESDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 13TH AT 6:50AM IN THE SPARTAN ROOM.  PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO ATTEND. 
 

The voting for High School Student Council ends on Monday, Oct. 5th at 6:00am.  

All high school students (including WCCC, VLA, CCP) are eligible to vote (once per student).  

Voting links are available in your google classroom.  

Voting must be done from your student Wayne Local School associated email address.

2020-21 HS Student Council Election Application

 

The process for this year’s elections will be as follows:

  • Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements.
  • Deadline to turn in a completed application:  Friday, September 25th.  (Return to Mrs. Miller or the office)
  • Elections will be held on Oct. 2nd.   (back-up date:  Oct. 9th).  For each grade level, there will be 4 Class Officers and 3 Student Council candidates elected. 

 

In order to be eligible for the ballot, all of the following requirements have to be met and approved. 

  • All candidates must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.5 or higher.  This must be initialed by Mrs. Vogel in the HS office. 
  • Student Council Petition:  Students must obtain 25 signatures from members of their class (**At least 5 needs to be from teachers) - if you already obtained signatures in the spring, you do not need to do this again.
  • The application packet must be turned in on time.  No late applications will be accepted.
  • Statement Video  (use Google Video) must be completed (45 seconds—1 minute in length) - If you already turned in a video in the spring, you do not need to do this again, but you can if your message to your classmates has changed.  Email video link to:  kmiller@waynelocal.net

STATEMENT VIDEO SHOULD INCLUDE:

 Your name, what you are running for, and grade next year.

 In 45 seconds to 1 minute in length, state: If you are a current member of Student Council, please tell us about what you feel you have done for the class as a representative.  If you are going to be a new member, tell about what you plan to do for the class.   If you are running for Class Officer, tell about your vision for the class, and how you plan to contribute to that effort.

 *These will be viewed prior to ELECTION DAY. 

 *These must be attainable goals.
