Best Wishes Mr. Pat Dubbs and Welcome Dr. Sam Ison!

After fourteen (14) years with Wayne Local Schools, Superintendent Pat Dubbs has been offered an exciting opportunity at another school district to return to what he truly loves - working directly with students.  Mr. Dubbs has made a huge impact at Wayne Local Schools and he will surely be missed.  His defining legacy will be his unwavering commitment to enhance our campus.  His hard work and attention-to-detail to construct the new transportation building, elementary school, and performing arts center will not be forgotten.  We wish him nothing but the best in his new endeavors and are committed to continue building on his successes. 

Under Mr. Dubb’s leadership, the district has attained several notable accomplishments. Some of the highlights include: 

  • One of only 28 Ohio school district’s to receive an overall “A” letter grade in 2018
  • U. S. Department of Education – Washington D. C.: “National Blue Ribbon School”
  • AP College Board – Expanded commitment to advanced placement courses:Named on the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll in United States and Canada
  • Southern Regional Educational Board – Atlanta, Georgia: “Pace setting, high achievement schools”
  • Ohio Department of Education – Columbus, Ohio: “Early Childhood Excellence,” “5 Star Preschool” and “Purple Star” recipient
  • High Schools That Work Southwest Ohio – Cincinnati, Ohio: “High performance and innovative district”
  • Dayton Business Journal – Dayton, Ohio:  “Top ten (10) high performing school district in Miami Valley region”

Welcome Dr. Sam Ison!

 

Dr. Sam Ison has been named the Interim Superintendent effective immediately.  Dr. Ison was the former High School Principal at Waynesville High School and brings a wealth of knowledge and vast experience.  After 43 years in public education, Sam is well known in education circles for his ability to generate a positive school culture.   Dr. Ison is respected as a highly successful principal, superintendent, and professor.  Welcome Back Dr. Ison!
