In Remembrance of 9-11

Posted on: September 11, 2017
On September 11, the people of the United States remember a sad event that happened in our country sixteen years ago.  Even though many of our students weren't born yet, they have older parents and relatives who remember that day quite well.  Our teachers and staff certainly remember that day, as it was a scary and sad time for all of us.  It is important for us to consider some positives that came out of this tragic event.

On that day, good people around the world showed their kindness and love for each other by reaching out and helping save lives and support families who were hurt by this event.  Fire fighters and police officers showed great courage in risking their own lives to save others.  Soldiers sacrificed their time and lives to fight against those who might harm us and a whole country started taking their own safety more seriously.  Americans put aside their differences by coming together and showing the power of patriotism.  They found ways to live and help their neighbor no matter the color of their skin, their religious background, or how much money they had.  It is always important to show each other kindness and love.  It is always important to have the courage to do the right thing.

With all of this in mind, we ask you to stand now and say your pledge of allegiance with an extra emphasis on remembering the events of 9-11.
