To wrap up our week of community service we had two guest speakers who introduced and promoted 4H. Lyla and Alivia Comer brought in chickens, a rabbit, clothing, posters and pictures to depict their involvement in Butler County's Madison Outlaw 4H Club. In addition to leadership, citizenship and life skills, 4H emphasizes volunteering within the community. Animal, STEM, FCS and Special interest projects were presented to the 8th grade students demonstrating that 4H is more than just showing livestock at the fair! As an added bonus, students were given the opportunity to ride a horse via a helmet cam. This virtual reality experience simulated cross country and stadium jumping using an English saddle as well as reining on a western saddle. Thankfully, there were no falls today from the saddle stand but students certainly enjoyed the thrill of a ride!
