Waynesville 7th Grade Student to Represent the Space Force at the White House in Washington, D.C.

Lucas Robinson was selected to represent the Space Force in a White House celebration of the Month of the Military Child.  Lucas and family will attend festivities at the White House on Friday, April 28th.  His decorated suitcase was inspired by the poem “My Military Suitcase,” written by a fourth grader from a U.S. Marine Corps family.

Robinson’s artwork will be on display with creations from other children representing their respective branches.

April is the Month of the Military Child and it recognizes the sacrifices made and challenges faced by military children around the world.  On average, military children move six to nine times during their K-12 education and change schools three times more than their civilian peers.  There are more than 2 million military-connected children of active-duty, National Guard and reserve service members and veterans, according to the White House.
