The 1915 building, although over 100 years old, serves as a historic original building representing the heritage of Wayne Local Schools. During community forums, residents were clear that saving the facade of the building was worth the extra trouble and cost. Personnel from the Mary L. Cook Library feel strongly enough about this to partner with the schools to help transform it into a new community center. There is much excitement about the idea of our historic building being revitalized into a new space that will allow for community events, school based performances, flexible meeting space for school and community groups, and many more possibilities
