Every year our Warren County state representative Scott Lipps sponsors a contest, “Become a Legislator for a Day”, for fourth graders in which students could win a day touring our Ohio Statehouse and finding out what it is like in our state government. Students in Ms. Holland’s Ohio History class are challenged to write an essay about a famous Ohioan from Warren County. Students chose well known and not so well known people from our area such as Neil Armstrong, Luke Kennard, Anthony Munoz, Thomas Corwin and others. They then researched and found out how each person influenced our county, our state, and our nation. Our winners at Waynesville Elementary are Maia Stewart, Jayden Walters, and Paige Hines. We are very proud of all our students who submitted amazing essays and these three students who will represent our school in Columbus. Way to go!
So proud of you!
