Purple Star Recognition for Wayne Local Schools
Wayne Local Schools is pleased to announce that Ohio Department of Education has renewed the designation of Waynesville Elementary School and Waynesville Junior/Senior High School as Purple Star Schools. The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that demonstrate a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s military. The program is designed to help schools respond to the educational and social-emotional challenges military-connected children face during their transition to a new school and keep them on track to college, workforce, and life-ready. Ohio’s Purple Star Advisory Board established important criteria that schools must meet to be considered for a Purple Star designation.
We are proud to be recognized as a school making a commitment to serve our students and parents that have years of dedicated service to the military.
