There are literally billions of public posts made in social media and blogs daily; unfortunately some of those posts are threatening in nature.  We do not want threats to go unnoticed; so starting this school year, we use a safety-focused, social threat alert service called Social Sentinel.

This service allows Wayne Local Schools to match details unique to our specific district and community.  We receive public post alerts in near real-time to review and evaluate and decide if further action is needed.  Social Sentinel is able to provide alerts by applying a search library containing thousands of behavioral threat indicators.

It’s our belief this service provides another security layer to help us proactively protect our school community.
