Boys Soccer Update

Tuesday the boys’ soccer team tilted with the Franklin Wildcats at home. The Spartans showed they were the far better team from the beginning. The offense and Defense were firing on all cylinders scoring four times and  completely shutting their opponent out in a truly entertaining match. The Spartans came away with an amazing 4-0 win.

Thursday night the boys soccer team set out to sting the Monroe Hornets at home. This was a dogfight from the very start with both teams playing their hardest in this tightly contested match. Eventually the Spartans give up a goal which they couldn’t recover from, ultimately falling to Monroe. The final score was 0-1 resulting in a Spartans loss.

Monday evening the boys’ soccer team faced off against the Yellow Springs bulldogs. The Spartans played hard but were ultimately no match for the Bulldog’s domineering offensive performance with a devastating loss of 0-7.
 
The Spartans clashed with the Franklin Wildcats on the road Thursday evening. The Spartans have bounced back in a big way from Monday night utilizing the full force of both the offense and defense having shut out Franklin with a final score of 8-0.

On Thursday night, the boys soccer team hosted their season opener vs. Fenwick.  After a few miscues and down 0-3 against Bishop Fenwick, the Varsity boys never gave up and battled back to tie 4-4.  JV is still searching for their first win of the season, losing 0-6 to a tough Fenwick team.  Next up Edgewood on Saturday!

Update:  September 12th

Tuesday evening the Spartans took to the road against the Wilmington Hurricanes. The Spartan offense proved to be too devastating for the Hurricanes to handle especially with a gargantuan game from midfielder Leo Friedrich, who had ended up netting 2 goals and an assist. The Spartan’s staunch defense was a deciding factor in the game as well having shut their opponent out for the second game in a row. This game truly showed the might of the soccer team with a final score of 8-0.
 

Thursday the boys’ soccer team played the Monroe Hornets. Both teams played extremely well in every respect and the game quickly turned into a dogfight early on. With brilliance from both sides of the field the game had ended in a 2-2 tie.
