At the end of April, the art department hosted its annual art show showcasing art from over 900 students ranging from grades K-12! Some of the different forms of art displayed were clay, wire, painting, pencil & colored pencil, digital, photography, and many more! Classes included AP and Advanced Art, Graphic Design, Photography, Middle School Media Arts, 2D, 3D, and a variety from our elementary school arts classes.
Over 500 students and teachers were involved in the presentation in one way or another, including set up and tear down. A few special thanks are in order...to Mr. Arlinghaus for giving up his space for us to host the event and for being so kind in the process...to Mark McKeehan for working hard to help us have the means to display our work....to all of the teachers and administration who came out to encourage the students and their work.... and of course, to our hardworking student body because without them, the show wouldn't be possible!
This year's art show took a lot of work, but in the end it was all worth it! Our community is blessed by the students we have in it...their creativity brings life and beauty to our school.
Until next year! Artfully yours,
The Waynesville Art Department
