Scholarship Winners:

 

Sauerkraut Festival Scholarships in the amount of $1000 go to:

  • Sophie Brown
  • Daniel Papanek
  • James Schneider
  • Liana Webb

 

The Sauerkraut Festival Founder Albert “Cap” Stubbs is recognized with scholarships in the amount of $1300, named in his honor.  These scholarships are awarded to:

  • Aubrey Rains 

 

And The Joe Coons Community Service Scholarship in the amount of $1600 goes to:

  • Katherine Feldmann

Congratulations to all of our 2017 Sauerkraut Festival Scholarship applicants.  These students were acknowledged at the weekend's festivities on Saturday morning.

And a huge thank you to the many contributors who donate and make these scholarships possible.

The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival Scholarship

All 2017-2018 Seniors attending Waynesville High School or the Warren County Career Center in lieu of WHS!

 The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival sponsors a scholarship contest for outstanding young people in the community of Waynesville. It is open to Waynesville seniors who attend Waynesville High School or the Warren County Career Center. The judging will be based on your knowledge of the community, your contribution/ involvement to the community, academics, and self-presentation. The top scorers will be declared the winners. The number of scholarships available will be determined by the annual contributions received from the contributors.

The young persons selected will make an important contribution to the community as well as enjoy the fun of being honored at the Sauerkraut Festival. These are some of the appearances you may be making in the coming year:

  • Work in the Chamber Information Booth and/or the Chamber Food Booth during the festival
  • Serve as a greeter at Christmas in the Village celebration
  • Appear at the 4th of July celebration
  • May represent the Sauerkraut Festival at area festivals and events
  • May appear at the Chamber of Commerce Candidates’ Night
  • May participate in other Chamber and community events

 Application form can be found on the on the scholarship tab on the WHS website. Turn in the application by 2:30 pm Friday, September 15, 2017 at the high school counselor’s office. Applications may also be mailed to the Chamber address listed below prior to this date. Please read through the posted information carefully for all information!
