January is School Board Recognition Month & we continue to celebrate our Board of Education members who dedicate countless hours to the success of our district!  This week, we are featuring Board Member Brad Conner.

10th Year as a Waynesville Schools' BOE Member
Also Serves on:
Miami Cemetery, almost 20 years
Warren County Career Center Board of Directors, newly appointed
Previous member of the Waynesville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

What is the one top reason why you love our district so much?
"While kids are always the primary focus, I strongly believe that excellent communities are made from excellent schools. Years ago, I chose to get involved in the school district in many ways, from coaching to leadership opportunities, always with the mindset of student support and community service."

What is the Best Part About Serving as a BOE Member?
"The best part of serving is seeing all the successes that our students achieve each year, especially during graduation. Seeing the school become one of the state’s highest rated districts has been amazing, and a direct reflection on our teachers, students, and family support.  In addition, all of the new building projects on campus that have become a reality in support of our students and educators has been a dream come true."

Have You or a Family Member Ever Worked/Volunteered in Waynesville Schools in Another Roll?
"My wife volunteered as an aide in the elementary for several years while our children were young.  In addition, I coached youth soccer, baseball, and basketball for many years."

What is Something Important You'd Like the Community to Know About Waynesville Schools?
"The newly built Performing Arts Center is going to support and bring so many opportunities to our students.  It’s another level of excellence to the district and will bring a major sense of pride to the community every time we as community members come for an event."
