The final phase of our bus barn project was completed recently.  A canopy was installed in the bus parking lot providing coverage over the sidewalk and the frontal part of the buses.

With the new building project, Waynesville Elementary is seeing some real momentum as the building takes shape.  The progress is moving along at a pretty quick pace.  Below are numerous photos of the building pieces, as well as the map for your reference.

This week on the construction site, we are seeing some real vertical progress on Area A.  Also, visible from the rooftop cameras are the newest concrete slabs for Areas B and C in the far background of the 3rd photo.  

As the construction site continues to grow vertically, it is necessary to use scaffolding, also called scaffold or staging.  This temporary structure is used to support a work crew and materials to aid in the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings, bridges and all other man-made structures.

New things are starting to appear as we see the first concrete block walls begin forming.  Masons have been hard at work as they begin walls of Area A.  They build so far up, and then they will be using lifts from the inside of the walls to continue upward.

This week, there were some new visible changes to the construction Area A in the way of door frames.  This is our first sign of vertical build that we've seen thus far, but stay tuned as we have new vertical changes in the coming weeks. 

For reference purposes, it might be helpful to know the designated areas of the new construction site.  The new building has been divided into three segment areas – Unit “A”, Unit “B” and Unit “C.”  Unit

The school constuction site saw concrete trucks last week as the beginning of the concrete slabs were poured for Unit "A" of the new building.  This section will be the side closest to the high school and contains the mechanicals, gymnasium, and kitchen areas.

We have been taking photos on a regular basis from cameras mounted on the rooftops of the buildings.  This allows us to see the progression and stages of construction as they happen.  Below are two videos of time progression photos condensed.
